Safety Policy

STATEMENT:
It is the policy of A & A COMMERCIAL INTERIORS INC. that every employee have a safe and healthful work place. Every reasonable effort will be made in the interest of accident prevention, fire protection, and health preservation. Our goal is to complete all demolition and install all acoustical ceiling work in a safe manner. Safety of personnel is of prime importance.

DELEGATION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

SUPERVISOR:
1. Report, review, and investigate all accidents and personal injuries.
2. Instruct all employees in the proper and safe use of equipment and the proper and safe procedures for all jobs.
3. Conduct safety inspections in the work areas.
4. Maintain on the job site:
a. an OSHA approved first aid kit readily accessible to all workers.
b. a supply of safety goggles, ear protection, hard hats, and other hazard protection, as required by the nature of the work.

A&A OFFICE:
1. Maintain files of all safety related incidents, including EmployerÕs First Report of Injury,, and related correspondence.
2. Investigate and maintain records on incidents that are not submitted to the insurance, i.e., incidents requiring only first aid.
3. Schedule and conduct safety meetings.
4. Maintain minutes of safety meetings.

Employee Responsibilities:
1. Adhere to all safety rules.
2. Wear appropriate safety equipment as required.
3. Maintain equipment in good condition with all safety guards in place when in operation.
4. Report all injuries, no matter how minor, immediately to a supervisor.
5. Encourage co-workers to work safely.
6. Report unsafe acts and conditions to the on-site job supervisor.

Failure to comply with safety rules will result in:
1. Verbal counseling.
2. Written warning.
3. Suspension without pay for continued or serious violations.
4. Termination.

All of the above will be documented in the employeeÕs personnel file.

STATEMENT OF AGREEMENT TO ADHERE TO THE GENERAL CONTRACTORÕS SAFETY POLICY:

It is hereby noted that most of the work by A & A COMMERCIAL INTERIORS INC. is as a subcontractor under a General Contractor. We therefore agree that while on the job site of any General Contractor, we will adhere to, and comply with any safety policy and regulations maintained by said General Contractor.

Safety Rules For the protection and safety of all employees, A & A COMMERCIAL INTERIORS, INC., has established the following rules to prevent accidents and injuries. Compliance with these rules is mandatory. Documentation will be made when the rules are distributed to new employees.

1. Appropriate footwear and clothing will be worn at all times. Every employee will be expected to have the required safety equipment available at all times, i.e., hard hats, respirators, goggles, ear protection, gloves, and other items as required by job site conditions, or the superintendent.
2. Do not wear loose jewelry or keep long hair in a down position, where there is a danger of catching such articles in moving machinery.
3. Horseplay, running, fighting, or an activity that may result in injury or waste, will not be tolerated.
4. Substance abuse, alcohol or drugs, is a safety problem which will not allow on A & A COMMERCIAL INTERIORÓS jobs. Anyone caught drinking or using drugs, or being under the influence of alcohol or drugs on the job site, will be terminated. We can not allow anyone to endanger the lives of workers on our job sites.
5. Eye protection is required when performing any task that could produce flying particles. 6. Operate tools and machinery with all guards in place. Tampering with safety devices is cause for immediate disciplinary action.
7. Do not operate any tools or machinery you are not familiar with.
8. Tools and machines must never be cleaned, adjusted, or repaired, until after the machine is turned off, the circuit is broken at the power source ( including lock-out ) and a warning tag is placed at the controls.
9. Any defects in materials, machinery, tools, and equipment, must be reported to a job superintendent immediately.
10. Do not leave tools, materials, or other objects on the floor, which might cause others to trip and fall.
11. Do not block exits, fire doors, aisles, fire extinguishers, gas meters, electrical panels, or traffic lanes.
12. Avoid risk of rupture, internal injury, or back injury in attempting to lift or push excessive loads. If an object is too heavy to move without strain, ask for help.
13. Observe the correct position for lifting. Stand with your feet slightly apart, assume a squatting position with knees bent, and tuck your chin. Tilt head forward, grasp the load with both hands, and gradually push up with your legs, keeping your back straight, and avoiding any abrupt movement.
14. Do not distract others while working. When approaching an individual operating noisy equipment, do so from the front or the side in a way that he / she will see you coming and will not be shocked or surprised.
15. Do not allow oil, wax, water, or any other material to remain on the floor where you or others may slip. Report any spills to your superintendent.
16. When handling hazardous materials, be sure you follow prescribed safety procedures and use required safety equipment. When using secondary containers filled by others, insure that they are labeled as to their contents and hazards. 17. Use appropriate gloves when handling materials with sharp or jagged edges which may result in lacerations.
18. Do not attempt to operate machinery for which you are not trained.
19. Unnecessary and excessive haste is the cause of many accidents. Exercise caution at all times. Walk, do not run.
20. All work related injuries and accidents, no matter how minor, must be reported immediately to your superintendent.

It is imperative that all employees become thoroughly familiar with the above safety rules. Failure to comply with safety rules or procedures, or failure to wear the appropriate safety equipment, will result in disciplinary action, up to, and including termination.
